Advantages of Common Mode Chokes
The term electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) describes the one-sided or mutual interference of electronic devices via electromagnetic fields. These undesirable effects can be transmitted either via conductors or wirelessly. To maintain electromagnetic compatibility within permissible limits, efforts are made to minimize inductive or capacitive coupling. Important magnetic components to achieve these goals are common mode chokes (CMC). Due to their design, they allow differential-mode currents to pass almost unrestricted. For common-mode currents, however, a high inductance is created, which reduces these currents. Hence, they are also called current-compensated chokes.

What sets InduComp's common mode chokes apart?
Typically, high-permeability ferrite toroidal cores are used. To achieve high inductance with minimal dimensions, the high-quality nanocrystalline toroidal core is the first choice. An important parameter is the insertion loss. Single-phase common mode chokes have two windings, while for three-phase systems, 3 or 4 windings are required (with star point or neutral conductor execution). The windings must be isolated from each other according to the operating voltage and maintain the required minimum air and creepage distances. Mechanical construction can either use through hole pinning or surface mount technology SMT.
